About the Japanese Association of Higher Education Research (JAHER)
The Japanese Association of Higher Education Research was founded in 1997 to convene and exchange researchers and others from various academic disciplines, strengthen the theoretical and methodological foundations of higher education research, deepen and develop research, and disseminate the findings to help solve practical and policy issues.
The first conference took place at Hiroshima University in May 1998, and the first volume of the Japanese Journal of Higher Education Research was released in June 1998. This association’s activities have been carried out by faculty, university staff, researchers, and practical experts since its inception.
